The Infrastructure Acceleration Fund (IAF) was established by the Government to help local authorities accelerate investment in core infrastructure to enable community, affordable and general market housing development to proceed.
Far North District Council endorsed two proposals to the IAF seeking funding to support four social and affordable housing developments in Kaikohe and Kawakawa. This would result in improved performance and additional capacity for 684 new dwellings, including the new dwellings committed to by the four developer applicants who are at various stages of planning and consenting. Costs that are eligible for IAF funding include new and upgraded Council-provided infrastructure for water, wastewater, stormwater, flood protection, and roading.
FNDC is structuring the IAF as two separate projects as they have standalone funding agreements and delivery conditions. The two projects being IAF Kaikohe and IAF Kawakawa will have independent project management teams.
There is now a requirement to undergo preliminary (Feasibility) design to support both the Kawakawa and Kaikohe projects.
This Registration of Interest (ROI) is an invitation to chartered professional consultants to submit relevant capability and capacity documentation for procurement of support for the IAF Feasibility Design.
