This procurement relates to the installation of Hot Water Heat Pumps at the Huntly Aquatic Centre. A rough outline of the scope of works is as follows -
Replacement of the existing gas fired boiler system with new energy efficient hot water heat pumps. These hot water heat pumps are to be installed in two separate systems with the first system being “Hot Water Heat pumps” heat pumps and heating the swimming pool water and the HVAC heating system.
The second system will heat the domestic hot water system. We have allowed for the existing gas system to remain in place as an emergency redundancy system, this allows us to monitor performance over the first operational period of the new system and allow us to operate the system during the installation phase and minimise disruption to facility operations.
As this new system is a change from gas to electricity there will be increased demand on the electrical system, we have allowed for a new sub switch board to be installed, this will be a dedicated supply for the new systems.
