Whangarei District Council (Council) is going to the market for the Facilities Cleaning Service.
Our current cleaning current was awarded in 2018. It includes cleaning at Council’s Civic Buildings (staff occupied buildings) as well as Venues and Events spaces at Forum North and Waste and Water Treatment plants.
Although there are some basic specifications that apply to all sites, each building has specific cleaning requirements and frequencies based on number of staff, visitors and opening hours.
Generic specifications include:
• Floor cleaning
• Stairwell/Lift cleaning
• Toilets - basic clean
• Tea stations / lunchrooms
• Rubbish and recycling collection
As some sites are open for public and visitors year-round, they will require seven day a week cleaning and cleaning on public holidays.
Most cleaning will be required to be completed outside of opening hours.
A spreadsheet of sites and requirements is included as Appendix A. However, it is expected that this will be reviewed with the successful responder during the transition to the new contract as some efficiencies may be found or changes required due to changes at Council.
