Whangarei District Council (Council) wishes to identify possible developers to redevelop the site at 109 – 115 Dent Street, Town Basin.
It is envisaged that Council will sell the Site to the selected developer in conjunction with a development agreement specifying the agreed outcomes and scope for the development, however the exact process will be determined through the next stages of the RFP. The development should align with Council’s required outcomes and scope for the Site, however, the exact type of development is not fully determined and the proposal is to discuss this with interested developers including options for the sale of the Site.
Council are aware of the wider benefits this development could bring to the local area and is keen to ensure best outcomes for the Town Basin. There is no predetermined view on the type or form of the new development and Council is keen to work collaboratively with the developer to provide a concept that is the right fit, design and purpose for the community.
