This contract for renewal and rehabilitation of 3 Waters assets within Waitomo District as part of the Waitomo District Council’s water assets renewals programme.

The contract is planned to be carried out in three (3) separable portions over a 3 Year works programme.The proposed 3-year infrastructure renewal project aims to upgrade and improve the district's water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. The contract requires combination of physical works involving removal and disposal of existing water assets, installation of new assets, rehabilitation of existing and associated works.

The works to be carried out over the three financial years are outlined below:

Separable Portion 1 (FY 2024 - 2025):
1. Wastewater main (DN 150mm, 14m and DN300, 129m) Open Trenching and Laying on Hospital Road, Te Kuiti.
2. Stormwater main (DN225, 59m) Open Trenching and Lay on Hospital Road, Te Kuiti.
3. Wastewater main (DN225, 211m) Open Trenching and Laying on King Street West, Te Kuiti.
4. Stormwater main (DN750, 88m) Open Trenching and Lay on Awakino Road, Te Kuiti

Separable Portion 2 (FY 2025 - 2026):
1. Water main (DN125, 303m) Directional Drilling on Takarei Terrace, Mokau.
2. Water main (DN125, 610m) Directional Drilling on William Street, Te Kuiti.
3. Wastewater main (DN225, 60m) Relining on King Street East, Te Kuiti.
4. Wastewater main (DN300, 105m) Relining on King Street East, Te Kuiti.

Separable Portion 3 (FY 2026 - 2027):
1. Water main (DN125, 350m) Directional Drilling on Esplanade, Te Kuiti.
2. Wastewater main (DN150, 122m) Relining on George Street, Te Kuiti.
3. Wastewater main (DN225, 270m) Relining on George Street, Te Kuiti.

The objective of these renewals is to improve the supply of drinking water, reduce sewer blockages and to reduce the ongoing maintenance costs.It is required that the contractor supply all of the plant and material necessary to carry out the works and associated activities indicated, described or implied in the specification drawings.
