This contract is for the maintenance of the local road network within the Waitomo District boundary, including:
• Roads (approximately 462km of sealed roads and 546km of unsealed roads)
• Bridges 162 (including stock underpasses and large culverts)
• Footpaths 54.3km of footpath
• Carparks and Other Council Facilities 4 carparks (Approx. 3,545m2)
• Te Kuiti Aerodrome.
Waitomo District Council require a suitably experienced construction contractor to carry out physical works utilising NZS 3917:2013.
The contract works include, but are not limited to:
i. Inspections and programming
ii. Emergency works/incident response (including call-outs)
iii. Drainage maintenance and renewals (including catchpit cleaning)
iv. Sealed pavement maintenance (including the annual pre-seal repair programme)
v. Street sweeping
vi. Unsealed roads maintenance – metalling, grading, drainage
vii. Signs maintenance and renewals
viii. EMP maintenance and renewals
ix. Traffic facilities maintenance and renewals (sight rail, barriers etc)
x. Road marking renewal
xi. Structures minor maintenance
xii. Vegetation control (includes Roadside and Pest Plant Spraying)
xiii. Footpath maintenance and renewals
xiv. Annual network wide resurfacing (including seal designs)
