The Wellington City Council have almost completed the detailed design of the Tawa Town Centre improvement project and this notice signals that we will be shortly going to the market for a Main Contractor to deliver the design.
The project is envisaged to be delivered in 2 portions being
1. Upgrading of the pedestrian crossings within the town centre and plaza access point
2. The plaza redevelopment works
The projects output will be to create a destination that accommodates growth; attracting people and encourages diverse investment, with improved civil infrastructure and a stronger town identity. It will improve pedestrian connections within the shopping district, create a gathering space that is flexible to facilitate community events and activate the community and surrounding businesses.

The RFT for the Main Contractor is envisaged to be released in early September
