Western Bay of Plenty District Council (Western Bay) invites suitably qualified and experienced contractors to tender for the construction of two proposed Pedestrian Bridges. The two approximately 23m long pedestrian bridges will serve as a crossing over the existing East Coast Main Trunk (ECMT) Railway track for cyclists and pedestrians. The proposed pedestrian bridges are located on the west and east side of the existing Ōmokoroa Road Bridge.
This project comprises the supply of materials and the construction of the bridge’s superstructure, foundations, earthworks and associated civil works. The contract will be in two portions, the first portion being the East Pedestrian Bridge and the second being the West Pedestrian Bridge. Should tender costs exceed available budget, only the East Bridge will be constructed.
NOTE: The "Geotechnical Assessment Report for Proposed Pedestrian Bridges Ōmokoroa Road, Ōmokoroa– Rev 1" is yet to be completed. This will be provided as soon as possible.
