Overview

Contract 15/1046 Kaikokopu - Waerenga Roads Water Main

This contract is a Water Main Contract located in WBOPDC’s Eastern Zone (ESZ) at Pongakawa.

The Works Include:
• Establishment and Disestablishment
• Water main construction.
• Welded PE pipe
• Commissioning new water mains.

This is a measure and value contract to supply and install approximately 3,600 metres of 250mm OD, PE 100, PN 12.5 polyethylene water main in Kaikokopu and Waerenga Roads located at Pongakawa. The contract includes connecting to Council’s existing network, installing valves and hydrants, and commissioning.

The pipe shall have all butt welded joints. Bends shall be either segmented PE or flanged ductile iron; Electro-Fusion couplers will only be accepted with the Engineers approval. Valves shall be the Hawle Brand and hydrants shall be Gillies Brand.

2 Principals Expectations

The Principal is looking for a Tenderer who can:
• Promote the social, economic, environmental and cultural well being of Western Bay of Plenty district.
• Provide all labour, plant, tools, equipment and materials necessary to construct new water mains including all fittings, connections, testing, backfilling and reinstatement to match existing ground treatment, all in accordance with the specification and implied on the construction drawings.
• Implement proactive strategies to enable the timely completion of the Contract Works.
• Develop and implement innovative work methods and/or materials that result in enhanced performance and an overall cost saving
• Comply with all conditions and requirements of the contract documents, including Quality Assurance and Health and Safety.

Due to the nature of the Contract Works, Tenderers must demonstrate in their submission that they:
• Clearly understand these documents’ requirements.
• The methodology is viewed to be extremely important and as such will be scrutinised thoroughly.
• Details of the proposed method of joining PE/PVC pipe and PE/CLS pipe in the Methodology.
• Provide the necessary resources and commitment to successfully complete the Contract Works.
