RFT RCS2014/2015-1381 Piako River Stopbank Upgrade between Hopai rd Floodgate and Pipiroa and between Ngatea and Puhunga

Waikato Regional Council (Council) invites tenders for the upgrade of a section of the
stopbank on the Piako River between Hopai Road Floodgate and SH25 at Pipiroa on the
left bank (Separable Portion One).
The successful Contractor may also be required to complete the upgrade of a section of
the stopbank on the Piako River between SH2 at Ngatea and Puhunga on the right bank.
(Separable Portion Two). Separable Portion Two is only to be carried on upon written
instruction from the Engineer. The inclusion of Separable Portion Two does not confer on
the successful Contractor any right to perform this work.
This tendered works for Separable Portion One includes:
· Building a haulroad;
· Removal of topsoil;
· Constructing a core trench in selected area;
· Placing of approved fill material;
· Shape and compaction of material;
· Building up the riverside berm in selected area;
· Replacement of topsoil; and
· Clearing construction area of any debris.
It will be a requirement of this Contract that the Contractor processes at least 1,500 m3 of
clay fill measured loose per day.
The tendered works for Separable Portion Two will be the same if this proceeds but
without the core trench and the building up of the riverside berm.
Tenderers shall be aware that this tender will be evaluated in accordance with the
Weighted Attribute Method. This contract is a measure and value contract and the
Conditions of Contract are the Conditions of Contract for Building and Civil Engineering
Construction NZS3910:2003, as modified by Special Conditions.
