Waikato Regional Council invites tenders for maintenance control of possums in the Honikiwi, Ngutunui and Pio Pio West Priority Possum Control Areas (PPCAs).

The Honikiwi and Ngutunui PPCAs are located in south-west Waikato between Otorohonga and Kawhia harbour. Collectively, they cover approximately 12,000 hectares of farmland, involve over 170 landowners and are part of the larger Mount Pirongia to Hauturu possum control project involving collaboration between the Council and the Department of Conservation (DOC).

The Pio Pio West PPCA is located in the central King Country, south-west of Te Kuiti. This PPCA covers 7,079 hectares of farmland, involves approximately 64 landowners and is part of the larger Central King Country possum control project.

The Council invites tenders for one or more sectors within the above operational areas and sector splits may be proposed. Each sector tendered for must include a separate Operational Plan and price. The onus will be on the tenderers to propose flexible methodologies and operational plans acceptable to landowners.
