Waikato Regional Council (Council) invites tenders for Pungarehu Canal Stabilisation Works.
This Tender includes first priority works involving the shaping of 1,100 metres of eroded canal banks and placement of geotextile cloth and rip-rap rock to protect the canal banks from future erosion. The site is located immediately downstream of the Lake Waikere Control Gate within the Pungarehu Canal.
The scope of works includes (but is not limited to): sourcing, testing, transport, grading and sorting of rock to meet the required specification; re-establishment of uniform berm to accommodate the design; shaping of bank and placement of geotextile and rock; maintenance during construction; incidental works and site reinstatement.
It is expected the earthworks for this contract will commence late March/early April and take 4 weeks to complete. This is a measure and value contract.
