Orchard Road Pump Station

Waikato Regional Council (Council) invites tenders for the construction of a new Orchard Road Pump Station. The Orchard Road pump station is located on Vineyard Road in Te Kauwhata. The land is owned by a developer, who is in the process of a subdivision in the area. The site access is through the current access track to the existing pump station. There are no restrictions on access for construction of the new pump station.

Note: Council will be providing some of the materials required for the replacement of the Orchard Road pump station including two (2) Bedford fish friendly pumps from the United Kingdom. Due to the risk of delays with the supply of the Bedford Pumps Council requests Tenderers to include Provisional Items for demobilising, standby and re- mobilising if the supply of Bedford Pumps is delayed, and to be clear in their tender what the price includes and excludes. Tenderers must also provide their methodology for demobilising, standby and re- mobilising if the supply of the Bedford Pumps is delayed. The potential for delay and effects on costs will be further considered (and discussed with the preferred Tenderer) at the Tender evaluation stage when the Contractors draft programme and prices are known.

The tender is for the construction of a new pump station and works include but are not limited to:

- site establishment and disestablishment
- temporary works including coffer dam and dewatering
- foundation and piling works
- construction of inlet bay and platform
- installation of inlet screen and 2 new Bedford pumps
- construction of a discharge outlet structure and associated channel works.
