Waikato Regional Council invites tenders for the upgrading of sections of the Piako River left stopbank between Pipiroa and Ngatea upstream of Rawerawe pump station and is divided into two separable portions. Separable Portion One is between Rawerawe pump station and Pauls Wharf floodgate and is approximately 2,500m long, requiring approximately 28,000m3 upgrade material. Separable Portion Two is between Pauls Wharf floodgate and SH2 bridge in Ngatea and is approximately 2,000m long, requiring approximately 26,000 m3. Separable Portion Two will only be carried out upon instruction from the Engineer to Contract.
The tender is for the upgrading of the stopbanks by raising the crest height to the design crest level, enabling Council to deliver the agreed service level to the community. The contract includes sourcing of material for the Contract Works.
