The purpose of this RFP is to select a suitably qualified person for the role of Iwi Advisor – Regional Plan Review.
The Regional Plan Review is a statutory review of the Waikato Regional Coastal Plan and Waikato Regional Plan that is required under the Resource Management Act. An engagement and communications plan is being completed, which will be implemented by a small multi-agency engagement and communications project team.
A key part of the project is to develop and maintain project relationships with iwi authorities in the Waikato Region, some of who have Joint Management Agreements with WRC. The core tasks required for this role are to implement iwi engagement and communications processes for the project, and to ensure Maori values and maatauranga Maori is integrated into the review.
