Whangamaire Floodgate Inlet Upgrade: Construction Works

Details

The operational requirements of the inlet of this floodgate are not met by the current structure. There is very little platform room for staff to use to clean the screen, and the screen itself has an inappropriate slope and no turnover, further adding to the operating difficulty. These health and safety issues are the driver for the upgrade of the site. The inlet is screened and a bookcase valve controls water flow at the outlet.

This tender is for the replacement of Whangamaire Floodgate inlet including:
 - site establishment and disestablishment;
 - all site reinstatement;
 - procurement of all material requirements as specified in the tender documentation;
 - construction of coffer dam (and/or alternative method) and dewatering of site to facilitate construction work;
- foundation requirements to support new structural requirements;
 - upgrade of inlet bay and platform;
 - replacement of inlet screen;
 - installation of health and safety features around the floodgate including handrails, and gates;
 - minor earthworks upgrade to provide access to the new platform;
 - installation of new crib wall above platform; and
 - any minor maintenance work to original structures as required by Principal directed through the Engineer to the Contract. This could include concrete remediation works.
