The opportunity

Due to current housing stress, the Waimakariri District Council (Council) has highlighted a need to extend its
elderly housing portfolio. The objective is to provide safe, comfortable, energy efficient homes for elderly
residents within the community. This is a not for profit activity and Council seeks to provide this housing
service for the lowest cost possible without recourse to rates.
Council is looking to construct 20 single level one bedroom units in Kaiapoi, which are designed into 4 blocks
of 5 units, all to be built with the ability to be relocated in the future if required. The units are approximately
52 square metres each.

What we need

This registration of interest is to receive submissions and establish a shortlist of contractors with the skills,
experience and track record to participate in the subsequent tender process.
We need a cost effective build solution and someone committed to programme, has robust health & safety
and quality assurance systems in place, and can work collaboratively with Council to deliver a quality project
within programme.
