Waikato Print is a digital printing business specialising in delivering printing and copying services to the University, incorporating an extensive product range, graphic design, print broking and high quality service. It employs 9.8 FTE skilled professional staff and manages a fleet of 158 leased multifunctional printing and copying devices on the Hamilton Campus. The University of Waikato is currently undertaking a review of its existing print service, the infrastructure that supports it, as well as alternative options as regards how these services may be provided, ahead of the expiry of existing equipment lease contracts in early 2017. The options being explored include remaining with the current in house solution or adopting a fully outsourced managed print service solution (MPS). This Request for Information (RFI) is being used to gather information to assist the University of Waikato in its consideration of the available resources and options to meet its future printing needs, with a view to subsequently preparing a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) to be issued to the market in due course.
