Overview

The University of Waikato wish to procure construction services to resolve water-tightness issues through the application of solutions that a durable and meet good industry practice with regards to the existing Thermophilic Research Unit building on campus. As a result of this tender the University is anticipating a lump sum contract agreement under NZS:3915:2005 with the successful tenderer that meets its requirements.

The scope of works includes for, but is not limited to:
1. The removal of the existing roofing membrane and substrate.
2. The supply and installation of a new pitched truss system with new long run roofing system inclusive of new gutters and downpipes.
3. The supply and installation of new membrane roofing inclusive of new substrates, rafters, and gutters and downpipes where specified.
4. Metal works to existing external sunshade frames.
5. Storm water drainage reticulation works.
6. Building weather-tightness achieved.
7. Existing building materials (potentially) supporting fungal growth / or are moisture saturated are remediated.
8. All finished surfaces are handed back to the University in new condition and are to be free of damage, swarf, debris, and waste products.
9. Titan board wall cladding fixings will be exposed and form part of the aesthetic. Fixings are to be aligned so are visually pleasing from a plumb and horizontal level perspective across all façade panels.
