The Scope of Work relates to alterations and renovation to the University of Waikato Orchard Park Chalets
numbers 32, 34, 35 and 37. The work associated with these alterations basically involves the following:
1. Installation of new en-suite bathrooms containing shower cubicle, WC and washbasin with mirror, toilet roll
holder and towel rail. This also involves the construction of new timber framed walls within each bedroom to
form the new en-suite bathroom enclosure.
2. Installation of a ducted ventilation system to each en-suite bathroom. The ducts servicing each en-suite
bathroom are to be connected in the roof space and ducted to the exterior. Vents to the bathrooms are to be
connected to the light switch to operate when the light is turned on and are to be operated on a 15 minute
time delay to continue running after the light switch has been turned off.
3. Vinyl flooring is to be installed in all the passages, the common rooms and the en-suite bathrooms.
4. Carpet tiles are to be installed in all the bedrooms
5. The walls and ceilings in the en-suite bathrooms are to be completely painted.
6. The walls and ceilings in all the existing rooms are to be touched up to conceal marks and damaged areas.
7. New cupboards and worktops are to be installed in all the bedrooms.
8. New kitchen fittings are to be installed in all the common areas.
Note that plumbing and drainage has been reticulated to each of the Chalets and all new plumbing and
drainage is to be connected to the existing. The plumbing is located in close proximity to the proposed new
sanitary fittings.
