Overview

The University of Waikato wishes to procure the architectural services for the design and construction observation of the Tauranga CBD Campus. The purpose of the RFP is to invite external companies to submit proposals to the University of Waikato with information on their skills, services, location and experience in Architectural services for the Tauranga CBD Campus Stage 1.

The new Tauranga CBD campus will deliver a world-class modern and high-tech tertiary education building in the Tauranga CBD. One that creates an environment with flexible, innovative space for teaching and learning, and collaborations with industry, business and the Bay of Plenty community. The new campus building should be a real landmark building for the area with a distinctive form that is sympathetic to the context of its location. An important consideration during master planning should be a tangible connection to the surrounding streets, buildings and the CBD.

The Architectural Practice must meet the minimum criteria;
• The Architect must have proven and demonstrable experience in the design and construction observation of a Tertiary Education Teaching Facility project with a construction value of over $15 million in the last 5 years
• The Architect must have a physical presence in the Waikato and/or Bay of Plenty throughout the duration of the project and handover. JV and partnering will be considered.
• The design will develop using a 3D design modelling package like Revit or Archicad and all consultants will work on the same model, through the exchange of IFC Files, to generate a fully coordinated BIM design

RFP questions close 7 October at 4.00pm. All communication/correspondence between any Respondent and the UOW will be conducted in writing through the following authorised representative.
