Overview

Timaru District extends from the Rangitata River in the north to the Pareora (Pureora) River in the south. In the west it borders Mackenzie and Waimate Districts while in the east the boundary is the Pacific Ocean.

The Timaru District Council (TDC) provides a range of parks, open spaces and facilities for the use and enjoyment of the community and visitors to the district.
TDC’s approach to service delivery is a hybrid model between in-house provision and contract grounds maintenance. The in-house team are focused on high profile areas but not wide area mowing and arboriculture.

This contract covers Temuka, Geraldine, Pareora, Arundel, Rangitata, Winchester, Claremont and adjacent rural areas.

The provision of these community facilities in a clean and well-presented state fit for their intended use is an important element in contributing to the lifestyle choices in the Timaru District.

In addition this RFP scope covers the additional requirements of Greenway Maintenance. The Contract works outlined in this specification are provided to outline the expectations set by Timaru District Council (herein referred to as TDC) for maintenance of Stormwater Greenway Infrastructure in the Timaru District. All work is located within Timaru District and includes the maintenance of various stormwater assets including stormwater bunds, stormwater swales, inlets and outlets, flow control devices (i.e., dissipation structures, stilling basins, rip rap lining etc.).
