Option 2 being this Request for Proposal seeks the design and construction of a new 10 court multi use sports stadium with offices and other facilities on the current outdoor netball courts which would require the demolition of the existing stadium and 4 to 6 new outdoor multi-use courts built on the site. Could be on the site of the existing stadium and retain the outdoor netball courts.
The key needs in summary are:
• Access to 10 indoor multi-use courts with regulation run-off.
• Four to six changing rooms overall.
• Fixed equipment to include scoreboards, officials and player benches, score benches, backboards, netball hoops, anchor plates for volleyball, gymnastics etc for competition events.
• Diffused natural lighting and LED illuminations from 400 lux (training) to 1,000 lux (competition).
• First Aid room with a toilet cubicle.
• Appropriate insulation, heating, and ventilation.
• Workspace for 2-3 facility staff overall with storage spaces plus minimum of 4 offices for other sporting codes, a “Sports House” that could have flexible seating for 15-20 staff.
• Training/Meeting Room with emphasis on use as a flexible space. Requires to be courtside for umpire/sport officials use.
• Kitchen facilities, kitchenette for staff use and a larger basic commercial kitchen for hire.
• High quality indoor wooden sprung floor.
• Motorised spectator retractable seating for 1,000 people.
• Court divider curtains, minimum of two but may require three.
• Indoor markings for multi-use sporting codes.
• Sustainable options were possible for materials, heating, ventilation, lighting, and water reticulation.
• Cost of building structure and roof without installation of solar panels.
• Cost of building structure, roof, and associated infrastructure for the installation of solar panels on the new building in the future.
• Possible build of 4 to 6 outdoor multi-use courts, also useable by other community activities.
• Underground ducting for installation of outdoor lights in the future if required.
• Asphalt finish for courts if replaced.
