Overview

This RFP is issued by Tauranga City Council, referred to below as “the Buyer” or “our” or “we” or “us”.
We are offering this exciting opportunity to deliver Arboricultural Services across Tauranga City Council’s (TCC) boundary. TCC has decided to separate its current contract it into two separate contracts: Arboricultural Services and Specialist Arboricultural Services. This tender is for the Arboricultural Services portion only. TC9/25 – Specialist Arboricultural Services Contract, is also out for tender and can be found on GETS.
Suppliers may make a submission for one or both contracts, however we will not be awarding both contracts to a single Supplier.

Tauranga City Council (TCC) has been recognised as a ‘Tree City of The World’ acknowledging its efforts to manage the city’s urban forest.
With more than half a million trees on public land, they are one of Tauranga's most important assets. Trees play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy environment, reduce pollution and keep our city cool. This Arboricultural Services Contract will support our goal of having and maintaining 30% canopy cover over the city in addition to keeping the city’s trees healthy whilst managing tree risk.
We estimate that the city’s tree stock which will require maintaining is approximately 70,000 trees, within our streets, parks, reserves.
Our tree management is guided by industry best practice, our Tree Management Contract Specifications, our Nature And Biodiversity Action Investment Plan and our Vegetation and Tree Management Policy.
The successful tenderer will have a pivotal role in assisting Tauranga City Council preserve, protect and enhance the city’s urban forest.

We will be shortlisting 3 suppliers to take through to a presentation process, from which our final evaluations will be made.

Please Note: Works on trees listed in TC9/25 - Specialist Arboricultural Services Contract are not included within the scope of this contract.
