Tauranga City Council’s current Street and Reserve Management contract will be ending as of 1st July 2025.
The purpose of this Advance Notice is to inform suppliers of the upcoming / release of Tauranga City Council’s tree maintenance contract.
This is a single step Request for Proposal process with interviews held for the highest scorers bids.
The existing contract will now be split into two (2) separate contracts:
1. TC8/25 - Arboricultural Services Contract
2. TC9/25 - Specialist Arboricultural Services Contract
NOTE: Suppliers may make a submission for one or both contracts, however we will not be awarding both contracts to a single Supplier.
The successful Suppliers must have NZ Arb Registered Master Arborists – either the business or the local depot depending on the size of the business.
TC8/25 - Arboricultural Services Contract
We are looking for Suppliers who have the capability, experience, and capacity to manage and sustain the urban forest within Tauranga City Council’s boundary. Suppliers need to have a proven track record in the management and maintenance of trees and have an excellent understanding of risk management and regulatory compliance.
The scope will include inspection based and cyclic maintenance, response to reactive works, tree planting and establishment, mulching and watering services.
TC9/25 - Specialist Arboricultural Services Contract
We are looking for Suppliers who have a high level of technical experience, a proven track record and capacity and capability to manage specialist arboricultural operations.
The scope will include monitoring and assessment, complex arboricultural work, maintenance in high profile sites / parks and sensitive areas, work on notable and privately owned notable trees, reporting for resource consent.
Indicative timeframes:
Request for Proposal anticipated to be released end of January 2025
Project Commencement : 1st July 2025
Project Completion : 5 year contract with the possibility of 2 years extension (12 months each)
