Tauranga City Council invites proposals for this contract for which the works/services comprise:
TCC are seeking a person or persons with suitable experience in the hospitality / food & beverage sector to sub-lease the ground floor area of the Building who will then own and operate the café / bar / catering operation.
Council’s new Civic Administration Building will be completed in late March 2025. Council lease the entire building and seek a café Operator who will become a sub-tenant to Council (subject to landlord approval).
The opportunity includes incentives by way of contribution to the café fitout and flexible commercial terms to enhance the feasibility of the operation.
Council is committed to supporting the wider local economy, sustainability values and activating the CBD. This is an RFP focused on identifying a café / hospitality Operator with experience owning and operating in the sector and has the resources to make the venture successful. We seek a proposal that speaks to that experience and can articulate a vision for the proposed look / feel and operation of the café and surrounding spaces.
Council is committed to activating the building and creating vibrancy in and around the building. It seeks
responses that share that commitment using an innovative, attractive and commercially viable café / food & beverage / catering operation as a vehicle.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the redevelopment programme for Tauranga’s CBD which
consists of a series of Council-led developments and development opportunities intended to establish the
city centre as the commercial, civic, and cultural heart of Tauranga.
