This Request for Tender (RFT) is an invitation to suitably qualified suppliers to submit a tender to the Tauranga City Council for the construction of a new town pier, tidal stairs, floating pontoon and promenade.
The scope of works include:
Construction of piled pier structure with timber deck and handrails.
Construction of piled lookout structure with timber deck and handrails.
Works to include design and supply of 24m by 3m wide floating pontoon structure which will be designed to transfer the mooring loads to support piles. Pile design shall be carried out by the contractor.
Design, supply and installation of 1 No 1.4m wide aluminium gangway to connect from floating pontoon structure to the proposed pier structure. Design to include all fixing details to proposed pier and floating pontoon.
Demolition of existing sea wall
Cement stabilisation of existing marine sediments and materials to subgrade.
Construction of proposed tidal stairs including cast in situ and precast concrete base slab with precast concrete bleachers placed on top.
Construction of replacement Rip Rap rock sea wall
Works to establish Plaza Areas and Promenade including removal of existing pavements, furniture and light columns
Construction of new concrete pavements and pavement finishes including laying of basaltic stone and precast concrete pavers
