Overview
Currently Tairawhiti District Health (TDH) does not purchase psychogeriatric aged residential care: nor do any of the aged residential care facilities based ion Tairawhiti offfer an aged residential psychogeriatric service. This means that those individuals requiring this level of care are either admitted to locally based aged residential care at an inapropriate level which places the individual , the facility and TDH at risk, or alternatively are placed in psychogeriatric aged residential care outside of Tairawhiti.
