Overview
Gisborne Hospital was designed in the 1970s and commissioned in 1985.
Over the 30 years since then, it has been reconfigured in various ways to meet the changing demands of health care practice and efficiency of operation. Additional buildings have also been added to the site but none of this has been conducted with an overall direction in mind.
The Board seeks to commission an expert review of the expected future life span of the facility and provide recommendations as to how it may be kept “fresh” for that expected life span, and how it should be configured to meet current and future requirements, as perceived at this point in time.
