The South Waikato District Council (SWDC) will be procuring services for the Watermain Renewal Programme to replace and upgrade 10.07 km of aging water reticulation assets across Tokoroa, Putaruru, Tirau, and Arapuni by June 30, 2028. This project is part of the SWDC’s Asset Management Programme aimed at ensuring reliable water service delivery, minimising costs, and addressing future growth requirements. The scope of work includes the installation of new water mains and rider mains, focusing on innovative and efficient methodologies:

Directional Drilling:
Reduces road disturbance, mitigates risks of service disruption, and eliminates the need for extensive traffic management plans.
Provides faster installation with minimal environmental and community impact.

Hydro-Excavation for Service Location:
Ensures precise, minimally invasive service identification compared to traditional methods.
