New Zealand has been selected to lead and deliver the global agenda for the International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG) Secretariat for the next four years (2018-2022) and the 8th World Conference on Women and Sport in 2022 [see appendix one].
In the lead up to this pinnacle event, Sport New Zealand are calling for proposals from suppliers to host an annual summit in 2019, 2020 and 2021 focussed around the strategic priorities outlined in the Women and Girls in Sport and Active Recreation Strategy with the first event taking place in October 2019 – one-year on from the launch of the Government’s Women and Girls in Sport and Active Recreation Strategy.
Sport New Zealand are interested in proposals that build on the momentum that the 2017 ‘She Moves’ event generated, while supporting the delivery of the Women and Girls in Sport and Active Recreation Strategy [see appendix two] and linking to IWG themes. It is expected that the event will develop over the three-years culminating in IWG 2022.
The annual event will likely be a one-day conference, although alternative suggestions are welcomed in your proposal. The confirmed supplier will organise end-to-end logistics for all three years.
Proposals need to include:
a) An understanding of the current issues for women and girls in sport and active recreation
b) Innovation and ideas for promoting Diversity and Inclusion including how to include young women and professional development opportunities
c) An understanding of the project scope and relationship to IWG and the Government Women and Girls in Sport and Active Recreation strategy
d) Demonstrated capability and experience – planning and event delivery
e) A detailed budget
The delivery budget for the event (as well as the associated management fee) $80,000 per annum. Sport New Zealand expects that delegate fees would be an additional revenue stream to support the delivery of the event. The exact fee structure however will require further discussion with the appointed delivery partner.
