Overview

The works are located in the small town of Manapouri, Southland District, in the southwest corner of the South Island.

A new Manapouri WWTP is to be constructed at the Kepler North Block located at 701 Manapouri Te Anau Highway, adjacent to the existing Kepler SDI irrigation scheme. The new plant will replace the existing Manapouri WWTP located at 65 View Street, Manapouri and will receive influent flows pumped from Manapouri and provide treatment of wastewater sufficient for irrigation to land at the Kepler Subsurface Drip Irrigation (SDI) scheme.

The purpose of this contract is to construct: a wastewater rising main from the existing View Street (Terminus) pump station to the proposed WWTP, and to provide a connection from the existing Cathedral Drive pump station rising main into the new rising main. This contract further includes the construction of a potable water rising main from the Manapouri Water Treatment Plant (WTP) to the proposed WWTP, and the installation of fibre-optic along the water rising main route to the proposed WWTP.

The required upgrade and renewal work at the View Street pump station would be carried out under a separate contract, to ensure the pump station have sufficient storage and pumping equipment to deliver the required flow to the proposed WWTP.
