The Southland District Council (Council) is approaching significant legislative changes for Resource Management with the Resource Management Act (RMA) being repealed and three new Acts will replace it.
New national direction with policy statements, environmental standards and associated practice will be implemented, these changes are anticipated to be implemented over the next ten years and will significantly change how applicants apply for resource consents, this will likely require changes to how Council will meet the regulatory requirements for processing resource consents.
This is an opportunity for resource management practitioners to support Council in this journey by being part of a collaboratively driven panel of resource management practitioners who can assist Council to meet regulatory requirements for resource consent processing.
