The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) is a small, highly specialised government department responsible for the detection, investigation and prosecution of serious or complex fraud. Typically, this may include:
- Large scale thefts by employees
- Multi-victim investment fraud
- Fraud involving those in important positions of trust (e.g. lawyers)
- Matters of bribery and corruption

The SFO requires a suitable software solution/s for Case and Evidence Management that will provide complete end to end management of their complaints, investigative and prosecution processes. The solution needs to incorporate the following improvements with a long-term plan to support and achieve the strategic goals of the SFO:
- A more unified business view
- Standardisation of processes to provide a more consistent approach to investigations
- Better visibility of resourcing for capacity planning
- A more dynamic and expansive view of evidence
- A single, central repository for data and documentation, with a more sophisticated search functionality
- Minimal manual processing of documentation
- A time recording solution to allow accurate reporting and cost management
