To inform DHB decision making, the Southern District Health Board, South Canterbury District Health Board and Nelson Marlborough District Health Board wish to develop a medium to long term strategic framework for laboratory services which will drive the future direction and inform future procurement decisions for laboratory services in the Southern, South Canterbury and Nelson Marlborough DHB regions.
The strategic framework will be developed in conjunction with key stakeholders and informed by best practice.
During the coming months we are looking at how laboratory services are meeting the current needs of patients, referrers, funders and how they can plan for future service delivery.
