Provision of Portable Toilet Facilities for Auckland Stadiums

This procurement is for the provision of portable male and female public toilet facilities that will be able to be utilised, as and when required, to support event activity across Auckland Stadiums’ network of venues. This procurement will augment the inventory of portable event infrastructure that is currently held by Auckland Stadiums and available for hire to venue hirers and promoters.

Under a separate procurement process, Auckland Stadiums is undertaking an upgrade of the Arena 2 Change Facility located at Mt Smart Stadium. This Facility contains the main public toilet facilities for Arena 2, as well as two smaller scale changing rooms.

The design for the upgraded Change Facility has been finalised and will include a complete refurbishment, as well as an extension to the existing building. The physical works component of this project is planned for the later part of this year, commencing 7 September, with a 13 week total construction period. The timing of these works has been programmed to minimise any impact on events planned to take place in Arena 2; chiefly, the Auckland Rugby League’s Finals series that is scheduled for the end of August.

Events will continue to occur in Arena 2 after the project start date however, when the existing Change Facility will become inaccessible due to the construction works. This event activity includes Schools Athletics Days that would normally utilise the public toilets in the existing Facility. Auckland Stadiums has an obligation to provide suitable alternative facilities for Athletics Auckland (and other venue hirers) during the construction period. There is therefore, an urgent need to procure these portable toilet facilities in order that they are in place prior to September when the Change Facility upgrade works will commence.
