PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT ONLY. NO QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED.
Through a Notice of Intent (NoI) the Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) is advising interested parties of the intention to go to market to attract suppliers(s) for the construction of the Upper Clutha Conveyance Scheme project.
The Opportunity
The Hāwea Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) does not have the capacity to service projected growth in demand. The long-term solution is a conveyance scheme that pumps wastewater from Hāwea to Albert Town before being pumped out to the Project Pure WWTP. The construction scope is broadly summarised below:
• Decommission the Hāwea Wastewater Treatment Plant.
• Construct new wastewater pump station (WWPS) at Domain Road in Hāwea and install a 12.5 km DN 315 PE rising main from Domain Road to Albert Town No. 2 WWPS.
• Upgrade Riverbank Road WWPS and install a 7.4 km DN 630 PE rising main from Riverbank Road WWPS to Project Pure WWTP.
• Upgrade the Project Pure WWTP inlet chamber.
The scope is dominated by construction of the pipelines using typical civil construction methods but also includes more complicated works such as the two bridge crossings, upgrade of a highly constrained operational pump station and connection into an operational WWTP.
