Pharmac is planning on issuing a competitive process for the supply of internal condoms (also known as female condoms) and water-based lubricant.

Internal condoms and water-based lubricant are not currently funded.

This competitive process may result in the funding of:
- internal condoms for prevention of sexually transmitted infection and contraception; and/or
- water-based, non-irritant lubricant for use with funded condoms.

Approximately 6,980,000 external latex condoms are funded by Pharmac each year.
