ADVANCE NOTICE: PERMANENT CAREGIVER SUPPORT SERVICE

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children (Oranga Tamariki) will shortly be going to market to run an open competitive tender to deliver the Permanent Caregiver Support Service (PCSS) nationwide.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a suitable provider/collaboration* who can demonstrate the required capability, capacity and experience to deliver the PCSS for permanent caregivers. The successful provider will have delegated responsibilities from July 2019 under s388A of the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 to provide financial and other assistance to permanent caregivers of children.

Critical to this service is an understanding of caregiver needs and the ability to deliver a child-centred and culturally responsive service.

This is an opportunity to deliver support to caregivers through a contact centre staffed predominantly by a team of qualified and registered social workers and other professionals. The PCSS will have the wellbeing of caregivers and children at the centre of what they do.

What’s next?
We anticipate to publish the Request for Proposals on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) on 31 August 2018.
Proposals will be accepted from new and established providers for delivery of this nationwide service.
