This Notice of Information (NOI) is to provide project information ahead of the Request for Tender which is intended to be advertised later in November 2024. The contract commencement date is anticipated to be before the end of January 2025, with the works being completed before Easter 2025 (58 working days).
This NOI is provided as an early indication only of the project scope and will not form part of any future tender documents or contract documents.
The intersection of Telephone Road, Holland Road, and Marshmeadow Road (at approximately RS/RP 01B-0015/9.270) is currently closed due to safety risks at the adjacent railway level crossing, predominantly associated with poor grading over the level crossing. The primary goal is to reopen the intersection by raising the through-road (Holland Road), with associated civil works and drainage adjustments. Additionally, KiwiRail will upgrade railway signalling (potentially to be undertaken later) and track surfacing.
Key points are -
1. The contact works are anticipated to cost in the order of $2.3M.
2. Contractors must be pre-qualified to “Construction – Level C (4C)” and “Surfacing – Level B (2B)”.
3. Works are predominantly on Holland Road (raising by up to 500mm), with tie-in works on Telephone Road and Marshmeadow Road. This will include works around the level crossing on Telephone Road.
