Overview : The Government has reintroduced the Roads of National Significance (RONS) programme to achieve its strategic priorities as set out in the Government Policy Statement on land transport 2024. NZTA is in the early stages of initiating planning and delivery of the Whangārei to Auckland RONS, with the following stages prioritised:
• alternative to Brynderwyns;
• Whangārei to Port Marsden; and
• Warkworth to Wellsford.
