Overview

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency invites Registrations of Interest (ROI) from suitably experienced contractors (potential Applicants) prequalified to at least Level 1D or 4D interested in being short-listed as Tenderers for the delivery of Physical Works (PW) at approximately 143 schools on the State Highway Network (SH schools) to be completed by the end of June 2024. Schools will be grouped into Separable Portions within each contract area. There are 5 contract areas contemplated, 2 in the North Island and 3 in the South Island. Waka Kotahi reserves the right at its sole discretion to award further comparable PW under the resulting contracts for up to an additional 200 schools after June 2024.

Specific scope elements include:
• Installation, on average, of two VSLS per school. VSLS will be supplied by the Principal at locations to be agreed with the Contractor
• Installation of a number of static signs
• Road marking removal and new road marking
• Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) including TTM plan approvals and management of the TTM contractor
• Minor works if required
Final tendering of the contracts will be by invitation to contractors shortlisted from this ROI.
A tender briefing will be held on 8 August 2023 via Microsoft Teams for all contractors considering submitting a ROI response. The briefing, any questions raised, and answers given will be recorded and made available to Applicants. Attendance at the briefing or subsequent viewing of the briefing recording is a pre-condition for submission of a ROI response. Contractors must register for the briefing using the GETS Q & A function by 7th August 2023.
Applicants must electronically submit one copy of the completed Applicant’s Questionnaire and related supporting information in pdf format, not later than 4pm 29 August 2023. Files must be labelled ‘Contract 8189, State Highway Safer Speeds Around Schools – Registration of Interest’ and be uploaded to the GETS eApplicant box. The file upload limit is 50MB.
