Advance Notice - National ITS Maintenance Tender

Waka Kotahi intends to issue a Request for Tender (RFT) for the management and maintenance of Variable Message Signs across New Zealand (excluding Auckland and Wellington). The contract is called the National ITS Maintenance Contract.

Waka Kotahi is committed to the pursuit of broader outcomes through procurement activities. As an area for step change, the National ITS Maintenance Contract will also focus on Environment and Sustainability and Economic and Employment outcomes.

The Contract Works includes the provision of all labour, plant and materials required to complete the following:

a. Remotely monitor the performance of the nominated ITS assets; advise the appropriate maintenance provider, Traffic Operations Centres (TOCs), and other nominated parties, of faults; and provide reporting information as required by this Contract,
b. Provide planned preventive maintenance on the ITS assets that ensures the service level requirements described in this Contract are met,
c. Provide 24/7 reactive maintenance using Waka Kotahi’s Fault Management Systems to the target response and resolution times to address faults on ITS assets and,
d. Manage the procurement, adequacy of stock levels, and other aspects of spare parts management, in a manner that meets the requirements described in the Contract.

The Contractor is required to provide preventive and reactive maintenance on all sign enclosures and contents, structures and roadside cabinets. The contract covers ITS assets on State highways outside Auckland and Wellington.
