2019222 – Glen Innes to Tamaki Shared Path - Registration of Interest
1. The NZ Transport Agency and Auckland Transport are jointly delivering a 7km long, 4m wide off-road shared path connecting pedestrians and cyclists from Auckland’s eastern suburbs to the Waitematā.
2. Section 2 of the project, St Johns Road to Meadowbank rail station, will start construction in 2020
3. The Transport Agency invites ROI from contractors who hold 1) Transport Agency’s 3A (bridge) prequalification, 2) 4A (construction) prequalification, and 3) Kiwirail’s prequalification.
4. The Works will be delivered under a traditional measure and value contract model.
5. The project is in the final design stage and award of the contract will be subject to consenting and funding approval. The tender will secure fixed rates for the contract with variation in quantities due to uncertainty of design at tender stage.
6. The contract works include:
• A reinforced concrete path, approximately 2.6 km long and approximately 4 m wide, but wider in places
• Earthworks
• Retaining walls
• A long lightweight bridge structure approximately 11m above the existing ground level
• A rail over bridge
• A large boardwalk from approximately 700m
• Drainage works comprising a culvert, catchpits, manholes, subsoil drains, swales, check dams, overland flow paths and associated works
• Landscaping
• Fencing
• Road signs and markings
• Traffic Signals
• Streetlights
• Sediment and erosion control, dust control and other environmental considerations
• Large scale vegetation clearance through and environmentally sensitive area
• Works to connect into existing public roads at each end
• Any associated traffic control, diversions, or associated temporary works
• Works associated with Statutory Approvals
• Activities in public communication and engagement
7. The contract will be awarded in early 2020, with physical works for commencing May 2020 and completion in April 2022.
8. Tendering of the contract will be by invitation to appropriately qualified contractors registered through this ROI process.
9. ROI submissions are to be uploaded to the GETS eTender box in a single file (pdf format) no later than 4:00pm of Tuesday 10th December 2019 and must clearly reference the contract number 2019222.
