This is a Physical Works contract for the safety improvements of SH2 from Pakipaki to Waipukurau (excluding the 2km section from College Road to Silverstream).

The Contract Works involve (but are not limited to) the following:

• Identification and protection of existing underground utility services, and testing of ground conditions
• Shoulder widening (approximately 27.3 km)
• W-section side barrier (approximately 0.7 km)
• Relocated w-section side barrier (approximately 1.4 km)
• Wire rope side barrier (approximately 7.7 km)
• Wire rope median barrier (approximately 3.8 km)
• Mass block retaining walls (approximately 1.0 km)
• Resurface Carriageway (approximately 52,000m2)
• Traffic management
• Other sundry items

Only Tenderers pre-qualified to Prequalification Level Construction 4B under the terms of the Highways and Network Operations (HNO) Prequalification System will be eligible to submit a tender.
