The MacKays to Peka Peka section of the Wellington Northern Corridor RoNS is currently under construction and programmed to be operational early 2017. Once this section of the Wellington Northern Corridor has been constructed, the section of what is currently State Highway 1 from Popular Avenue to Peka Peka Road will no longer be required for State Highway purposes. Following the opening of the new expressway, works will be executed to transform the current State Highway to the form and function of a local (arterial) road of a similar nature to other roads in the Kāpiti Coast.
This is a Professional Services contract that requires a Consultant to design a fit for purpose upgrade of the State Highway 1 between Poplar Avenue to Peka Peka Road in accordance with the revocation agreement between NZTA and KCDC of August 2012.
