Overview

Fire and Emergency NZ does not have an integration solution for information sharing both within its systems and with partner agencies. To manage this challenge, a series of quick fix, ‘point to point’ integration solutions are deployed every day (usually in the form of nightly batch processes) to transfer data from one system to another. Over time, this has resulted in FENZ’s infrastructure requiring additional maintenance that is costly and does not easily support FENZ’s current and changing business demands.

Fire and Emergency is seeking to establish a foundational integration capability. FENZ requires the following:
1. Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and an API Manager are deployed
2. A support model (with options for first, second and third level support) for the maintenance of the integration layer is established.

This capability will lay the foundation for:
• information and data sharing within FENZ’s multiple systems and in a secure manner.
• Information sharing with external partners and agencies in future.
