Babcock NZ Ltd (Babcock) is seeking information from potential suppliers of a redesigned Maritime Internet Protocol Network (MIPN). The RNZN’s MIPN serves to extend the NZDF Wide Area Network (WAN) to ships, providing connectivity between the Defence Information Environment (DIE) networks installed in the ships and their equivalents ashore.
Babcock is particularly interested in receiving information in relation to those suppliers able to design, supply and implement a redesigned MIPN. Information relating to partial solutions (eg design and implementation using Babcock-sourced material) is also of interest.
Information provided will help inform and assist Babcock in determining the most appropriate approach to implementing a redesigned MIPN, and is expected to include indicative initial and through-life costs for the system.
