This advanced notice of RFP is issued jointly by New Plymouth District Council (NPDC), South Taranaki District Council (STDC), Stratford District Council (SDC) for the provision of regional waste services.
What we need:
This is a joint procurement for the provision of regional waste services. The scope for all three Councils includes the collection of landfill waste, recyclable materials and waste organics comprising food waste and greenwaste, the transportation of materials to processing and disposal facilities, and the full management of all twelve refuse transfer stations (RTSs) entailing fee collection, weighbridge operations, loading and unloading, and distribution of product. All mobile plant will be owned by the Contractor and Contractors are to provide bins and bulk haulage to end disposal and/or processing facilities.
A key objective of the new waste services contract is to meet the goals of the Councils’ WMMPs, employing appropriately innovative technologies that support the re-purposing of waste back into a circular economy, and contribute towards reducing carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions. Data management, tracking waste volumes and reporting is extremely important to us as these feed into our planning and decision-making frameworks.
