Massey is seeking to partner with a provider(s) of dairy plant technology a leading edge dairy plant system that can cater for the various needs of the University.
Massey operates two dairy units adjacent to its Manawatu Campus. The farms form part of the portfolio operated by the Massey Agricultural Experiment Station (MAES).
The mission of MAES is to support leading-edge research, education, extension, and revenue generation, under the overarching proviso of achieving financial sustainability for the overall landholding and contributing to the strategic goals of the University.
In essence the function of the two farms (Herring-Bone Dairy 1 & 50 Bale Rotary Dairy 4) is to provide a platform for research and teaching while maintaining a commercial purpose.
